Who We Are
About Redwood Medical Consulting, LLC
Redwood Medical Consulting evolved from a need expressed by many health care professionals about either their confusion surrounding the HITECH Stimulus Act of 2009 or their frustration at not having enough time to adequately research their options, let alone deploy a digital alternative to their paper-based Practice or health care system.
Given that there are over 600 medical software vendors, Redwood Medical Consulting is set to assist a Practice either evaluate a particular vendor or assist that Practice in implementing either Practice Fusion or OmniMD, both of which we consider excellent solutions and we are Certified Consultants for Practice Fusion and a Certified Representative of OmniMd.
NOTE: The HITECH Program does not mandate that a health care provider or system totally digitize their practice immediately in order to qualify for Stimulus Funds. There are minimal configurations that are acceptable as well as full Practice Management solutions extending from the front office to the back office.
Initially, Redwood Medical Consulting will provide a potential client a proposal, called Onboarding, with an in-depth analysis of the Practice and an implementation guide, complete with goals, tasks and time frames. The “Onboarding” proposal is $1500 for a single Eligible Provider Practice, $3000 for a 2 or 3 Eligible Provider Practice, $5000 for a 4 to 6 Eligible Provider Practice. Larger practices are presented with a customized Bid based on number of Eligible Provider. In all cases, the Practice is under no obligation beyond the Onboarding Report.
Once an Onboarding Analysis is completed, it is presented to the Practice and reviewed by both the Practice and RMC.
The Practice then has a host of options, ranging from using the analysis as a benchmark when selecting a vendor and independently implementing an EHR or PM system of choice to utilizing RMC as that Practice’s Project Manager, managing all aspects of implementation including hardware, software, and networking analysis, plus all training and procedures required to meet Stage 1 of the Meaningful Use criteria necessary for receiving stimulus monies. We could also be “on call” for that client after initial deployment and at their front door within minutes-not a phone call to some other part of the state, nation or country. The advantage of using Redwood Medical Consulting is that we are familiar with the last twenty years of various ambulatory practices and both the keys to their successful implementation of an EHR or PM system, and the numerous reasons a significant number of attempted conversions to EHR or a PM system failed. We are also keenly familiar with the last nine year’s of successful strategies that not only were minimally disruptive to that Practice, but won that Practice the coveted Davies Award for best implementation and conversion from paper to an Electronic Health Record or Practice Management system.
