Redwood Medical Consulting, LLC is your local “Healthcare Port in the Storm”.
As the speed of change in healthcare picks up, 2012 will see some changes at Redwood Medical Consulting to insure that North Coast Healthcare Providers stay ahead of the curve as we continue to offer our clients both the best current advice in healthcare, identify emerging trends that offer positive benefits for both providers and patients and most importantly, insure that healthcare providers participating in the ARRA Hitech Initiative continue to take full advantage of the Program.

In addition to providing this year’s Best in Class EHR and free web-based EHR system, Practice Fusion (which by the way has won “Best in Class” for both 2011 and 2012), we will continue to offer OmniMD and iPatient as modestly priced, but extremely versatile, reliable and robust ONC Certified alternatives for a host of specialized practices.

New for 2012, Redwood Medical Consulting will begin offering a series of seminars ranging from Predictive Analytics to mapping a secure and non-disruptive path from a provider-centric healthcare delivery system to a patient-centric system. Evidence has consistently supported the value of transitioning to the new model which has the distinction of more fully engaging patients in their own healthcare while progressively reducing provider costs, insuring patient safety, expanding provider diagnostic options using evidence-based information and maintaining the continuity of care so vital to the ongoing health of a patient. We’ll also look at ways of overcoming obstacles to achieving Accountable Care Organization status; meeting MSSP requirements; why webinars/email/phone call support are inadequate once your EHR/PM vendor has left the building (with your check); to Mobile Overload-is wireless the answer to everything?

Another significant offering of Redwood Medical Consulting will be seminars focused on assisting healthcare providers avoid the speeding train on the track headed straight for your billing department: ICD-10. We’ll also start offering lunchtime mini-sessions on everything from passing a HIPAA audit to patient empowerment. Plus, we will be offering “Asked and Answered” sessions-expert mini briefs based on Your questions.

Adopting an Electronic Health Record system or a complete Practice Management system may seem to be a daunting process, dramatically affecting morale, productivity, revenue flow, and causing unwanted disruptions to a healthcare provider. Over the last two decades, this process has evolved to a point, where making such a significant decision is no longer fraught with uncertainty. The conversion no longer has to be expensive, tedious, or a major challenge to your normal office routine.  In fact, effective and “meaningful use” EHRs have matured to a point where they can positively enhance clinical workflows, adapting to unique health care practices, rather than forcing healthcare providers to fit into a specific medical vendor’s EHR system.

Redwood Medical Consulting is committed to making that transition as easy and as minimally disruptive as possible. This is also part of a larger effort to establish regional, state and national Health Information Exchanges making it vastly easier and safer for a patient’s health information to follow them wherever they might move in the United States. Redwood Medical Consulting is proud to be a task force member of Cal eConnect, the state-wide Health Information Exchange system.

If you have settled on an EHR/PM system, we can provide a host of supplemental services to guarantee a successful transition.  That includes working closely with your staff to insure their comfort with the transition, their training, guidance, and when having to consider additional hardware acquisition, installation, maintenance, or networking and/or communication requirements, we’re there to provide a host of options. Best of all, we’re only a short phone call away. When you’re talking to Redwood Medical Consulting, you’re talking to a neighbor, not someone elsewhere in the state, nation or half way around the world.  That also means if we need to physically be there, you can measure it in minutes, not days or weeks.

And we believe that transitioning to a digital work environment will ultimately reward the providers and healthcare systems with improved bottom lines, the ability to expand their client base, add to the expertise of their support staff and insure added safety for your patients.

An additional service we provide is a complete analysis of your practice and make suggestions as to possible software solutions, hardware and networking options, all related costs, plus training and implementation scenarios, and local support. We call these custom analyses, “Onboarding Scenarios”, and are an excellent way to see the potential risks, impacts, costs, advantages and personnel requirements that come with converting to a digitally-based practice, prior to actually committing to the transition. Should you be interested in this approach, please go to the “Contact Us” section to drop us a note.

Going digital is a significant step for paper-based practices and health care systems.  Providers need to know all the advantages and potential liabilities associated with such a decision.  Redwood Medical Consulting will not gloss over the realities of making this transition in order to make a sale or provide support services.

Whether you choose to go with the minimum required to qualify for HITECH subsidies or digitize your entire practice or health care system, we can be your partner every step of the way.
